I told them they could each find 5 and they went searching. Jackson was really good about letting Madelyn find some on her own. They each collected them differently. Madelyn tried to fit them all in her hand and Jackson made a pattern on the floor. He can make anything into a pattern!
Jackson had pajama day at school this afternoon. He thought it was pretty cool to wear his jammies to school, but thought it was quite weird to wear them on the bus!
At lunch, we read out of our Advent book. Today, the reading was about how God announced the birth of Jesus. He sent angels and shone a bright light to lead people to Jesus. The activity was to talk about how their birth was announced. I told them that for each of their births, we text a picture to family and friends announcing that they had arrived. It was also on Facebook and in the paper. For Jackson, we didn't send out Christmas cards that year, but instead sent out a birth announcement since he was born in January.
We had our first Christmas this evening with Brandon's family. We had a nice meal and the kids opened their gifts. They were super excited to FINALLY open presents!! Madelyn's favorite gift was her new princess dress and Jackson's favorite was his new Lego sets. Madelyn wore her dress for the rest of the night and Jackson had fun putting together his Legos with his dad and uncles.
Tomorrow is Elfie's last day with us :( We are all quite sad that he will be leaving, but we sure had a lot of fun with him! Jackson remembered that last year, the kids got to give Elfie a hug goodbye because he only needed a little magic to get into Santa's sleigh when he came to deliver our presents and pick up Elfie. They are both very excited to hug Elfie tomorrow. We are sure going to miss him!
