Adventures of Elfie: Day 16

"Mom, Elfie made a snow angel, again!" Jackson said as he came barging into the bathroom this morning. Elfie got into the flour last night and made himself his own winter wonderland. He did the same thing last year :)

We had a full hour of music today during Sunday School to rehearse for the Christmas program coming up next Sunday evening. We also practiced "Silent Night" with bells which we sang and played during church this morning. Everything went well and I'm feeling a little less stressed about the whole thing!

Later this afternoon, we headed over to Davenport for their live nativity and Christmas program. It was great! Both kids couldn't take their eyes off the stage. They loved it! Below is a picture of the live nativity. There were cows, sheep, donkeys and goats along with Mary and Joseph. It was quite a sight to see!

Our Advent calendar activity for today was to have a family movie night. When we got home from the program, we let the kids open a special present together. They could hardly contain their excitement! They tore it open to find Christmas jammies, a Planes: Fire and Rescue DVD, popcorn and a little bag of candy for each of them. Oh my goodness, were they excited! We ran upstairs to put on our jammies. They both were jumping on our bed with their cute new jammies singing their new made-up song, "Christmas is here... Jesus is born!" They loved their new jammies and Jackson loved the movie. Madelyn danced for the first half of the movie, then was playing doctor with her babies :/ Oh well!

We ate supper in Davenport, so we didn't read our Advent book tonight. I guess that means tomorrow night, we'll read two stories! Today was a great day for everyone :)
