Jackson had another full day of preschool today. He was so excited for his Christmas party that he didn't need any reminders about what he needed to do. He got dressed by himself, brushed his teeth and ran down to see if Elfie brought him anything for filling his sticker chart yesterday. Madelyn filled hers a couple days ago and she got two Christmas gum drops. Jackson was hoping there would be some on the table for him this morning...and there they were!
The advent activity for today was to put the mailman's Christmas gift in the mailbox. Madelyn grabbed it off the counter and Brandon put it in the box on his way to the shop this morning. Jackson also gave his bus driver a little gift when he got on the bus.
Madelyn and I went to Fargo this morning to run a couple errands. Our first stop was Target. (I don't think I've ever gone to Fargo and not had to get something at Target.) I told Madelyn that I was going to get a coffee and that she could get a juice or a hot chocolate. She chose a hot chocolate. The guy made a nice warm "hot" chocolate for her and she sipped it while we shopped!
We also picked out tights and accessories for her Christmas dress. We found a necklace and bracelets that matched on clearance which ended up being only $2. She loves her dress so much! When we got home she wanted to try everything on before she went down for her nap. Here is my beautiful little girl all dressed up for Christmas. And of course, when you're all dressed up, you have to take a spin :)
My mom came over to watch the kids so I could go to the church and set up for rehearsal in the morning. There was some miscommunication about the microphones, so I spent a couple hours searching for and setting up new microphones and cords as well as rewriting stage directions so the cords do not get in the way and kids do not trip over them. I think I've made changes to this program 8 times. Hopefully this is the final draft!
Jackson had a fun day at school. He got a toy horse from the gift exchange and a Jake puzzle from one of his teachers. He said the best part of the day was eating in the lunch room :)
Brandon had the Bison game on mute while we were reading books in our room tonight. Jackson was really concerned about the player who was injured at the beginning of the game. His prayer tonight was "Dear God, please help the doctors help the football player feel better." Aww...
Tomorrow we start the day with an 1 1/2 hour Christmas program rehearsal. Sunday night is the big performance. I just hope everything falls into place like people keep assuring me they will :/
